The first Monday of September is Labor Day in the US and Canada. The holiday was originally celebrated in 1882, in New York City’s Union Square. During he Industrial Revolution, Labor Day was organized by unions as a rare day of rest for the overworked. This unique video illustrates the history of Labor Day from Union Square to today.
