Can you say 5 step recipe? Impressive! A recipe that is simple enough for a fourth grader and delicious enough to think it’s delivery; and with a schedule like mine, it’s hard to get the food you want, when you want it. So I took to the grocery store to get two simple ingredients. Beef and broccoli. Sometimes we want a delicious dish that damn near cooks itself! So, I’ve created a recipe just for you in just 5 easy steps!
Another great thing about Asian style cuisine is that it makes for incredible leftovers! Just throw it in the microwave and BOOM you have the same delicious meal for lunch the next day.

Equipment
- Medium sauce pan
- Large skillet
- Cutting board
- Medium knife
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin, tri tip, ribeye or beef cut of choice- the more tender the better
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups uncooked jasmine rice
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1-1 1/2 cups Soy sauce separated
- 3 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sriracha separated
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2-3 cloves chopped garlic separated
Instructions
- Brown chopped garlic cloves (1/2 of your chopped portion) with a tbsp of olive oil in a pot. Once garlic is browned, bring 3 1/2 cups of water to boil. Throw in your rice and cook at medium-high heat. Once your rice is cooked and the water is almost gone, cover and reduce heat to medium-low temp.
- Over medium heat, heat olive oil in skillet. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir constantly to mix all flavors and then drop in your raw beef chunks. As its browning, add in your black pepper and ginger.
- Now its my favorite part! Time for some soy sauce (3/4 cup) and Sriracha!
- Reduce your heat to low simmer. Toss in your broccoli florets and shredded carrots. Avoid stirring them a lot to keep your broccoli pieces solid. Cover and let veggies slowly steam in pan. (Add a little water if it dries out, as some moisture is lost to evaporation).
- Combine remaining soy sauce, sesame oil, corn starch, sriracha and ginger. Mix well and your sauce is done!
- Done cooking in 5 steps, as promised! Now it's time to plate your dish. Start with white rice and pour over your stir fry and don’t forget your delicious sauce too!
